The History

1973

Famar was founded as manufacturer of specialized machines as well as retrofitter and retooler of machine tools. During this period Famar worked almost exclusively for major Companies in the italian automotive industry.  

1982

Famar started producing its' first own specialized machine tools suitable for the manufacturing of all types of autmotive components by using advanced technology.

1986

Thanks to the technical expertise and enthusiasm of the managing executive and his employees, the company grew in size and improved its' quality standards. This enabled Famar to become an independent manufacturer of highly progressive machine tools. The picture above shows the horizontal double spindle CNC lathe Benjamin with a special loading device, which was the first series of machine tools entirely made by Famar.  

1995

Famar introduced a product that was revolutionary in many aspects during the 11° EMO fair in Milan: the vertical pick-up spindle lathe Ergo. This machine was an instant success and allowed Famar to gain access to new challenging markets.
